Location – Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York
Theme – Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination
Ok tell me who doesn’t want to go to the Met Gala???? This year was outstanding and given the theme of the event, creative and interpretive. From dresses resembling church stained glass and architecture to biblical figures and high priests. Of course the chance of this happening are pretty slim but, oh my, just watching everyone arrive and the gowns and the hair and the stars and did I mention the gowns!!! Definitely on my bucket list…
Some of the most outstanding would be – J Lo in Balmain, Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Ralph Lauren, Blake Lively was regal in Versace, Gigi Hadid was stunning in Versace, Amanda Seyfried in Prada, Kate Bosworth came as a bride in Oscar de la Renta, dare I say Kim K in Versace look kind of amazing, I loved Selena Gomez in Coach but she was in dire need of a bra, Zoe Kravitz in kind of half a dress by Saint Laurent, Diane Kruger in Prabal Garung – the train was fabulous and my favourite man was Alexander Skarsgard because he looked amazing in a tuxedo by Brioni.
